The National Competition “Glacier Protection — A Key Factor in Ensuring a Bright Future for Humanity” was held and concluded on the initiative of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, jointly with the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The competition aimed to raise environmental awareness, draw public attention to the protection of glaciers, water resources and the environment, and promote Tajikistan’s international initiatives on water and climate. It was held in three categories: “Best Popular Science Article,” “Best Television and Radio Film or Programme,” and “Best Artwork.”
Scientists, specialists, researchers, journalists, school pupils, students, creative groups and legal entities took part in the competition. Winners and active participants were awarded diplomas and commemorative gifts in recognition of their contribution to promoting glacier protection, the rational use of water resources and environmental protection.
