A republican scientific and practical conference entitled “Museums and Their Role in Preserving Historical and Cultural Heritage During the Period of State Independence” was held at the National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan.
The event brought together scholars, researchers, museum professionals, and representatives of scientific and cultural institutions to discuss key issues related to the preservation and promotion of the country’s historical and cultural heritage.The conference aimed to examine the role of museums in preserving, studying, and presenting the nation’s valuable historical and cultural heritage, as well as strengthening scientific cooperation among cultural institutions.
Participants emphasized that during the years of state independence, continuous support from the state and Government has contributed significantly to the development of the cultural sector and museum activities, creating favorable conditions for preserving unique historical artifacts and national values.
Scientific presentations focused on the history of museology, modern approaches to preserving archaeological discoveries, the application of digital technologies in museum operations, and the role of museums in fostering patriotism and national identity.
Participants also noted that museums, as important cultural centers, play a significant role in presenting the history and civilization of the Tajik people. As part of the event, an exhibition of historical and archaeological findings, along with rare cultural artifacts, was organized for attendees.
