DUSHANBE EMERGES AS A REGIONAL TOURISM HUB: GROWTH, APPEAL AND RISING VISITOR NUMBERS

Dushanbe, the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, is increasingly taking on a modern appearance and becoming an attractive tourist destination. Well-maintained streets and avenues, clean pedestrian areas, and modern high-rise buildings reflect the city’s transition into a new phase of development. Today, Dushanbe serves not only as a political and economic center but also as a vibrant tourism hub.

With the arrival of spring and summer, the city’s parks transform into picturesque landscapes. Colorful flowers — from red and yellow tulips to fragrant roses — enhance the city’s beauty. Visitors are impressed not only by the natural scenery but also by the hospitality of the Tajik people, as well as the city’s safety and cleanliness.

According to tourists, Dushanbe is a მშვიდ and beautiful city that harmoniously combines modern design with preserved national traditions. The tourism infrastructure continues to improve, creating new opportunities for attracting visitors. The development of the service sector and the creation of new jobs contribute to improving service quality.

According to statistics, 1,784,430 tourists visited the Republic of Tajikistan in 2025, which is 19% higher compared to 2024. Approximately 60% (1,070,658 visitors) traveled to Dushanbe. A total of 370,539 tourists arrived in the capital via Dushanbe International Airport and railway, marking a 66.7% increase compared to the previous year.

These achievements and international recognition demonstrate that Dushanbe is becoming a major cultural and tourism center in Central Asia. The city has achieved significant results in developing tourism infrastructure, strengthening the economy, and expanding international cultural cooperation.
