The second round of the festival-competition of artisans and craftsmen titled “Best Master and Apprentice” was held with special grandeur at Iram Park, with the broad participation of local residents and foreign tourists.
During the competition, participants demonstrated their outstanding skills in various fields, including wood carving, jewelry making, pottery, embroidery, atlas and adras weaving, carpet weaving, and other traditional crafts. Each piece presented reflected refined artistic taste, delicate craftsmanship, and deep respect for the cultural heritage of the ancestors.
The jury members gave an objective assessment of the level of performance, innovation, the use of national elements, and the cooperation between the master and the apprentice. It is worth noting that the master-apprentice relationship is one of the ancient traditions of the Tajik people, and such competitions play an important role in preserving this tradition and nurturing a new generation of skilled artisans. By learning alongside their masters, apprentices improve their skills and may become worthy successors of this noble path in the future.
As part of the event, a craft exhibition and sale, cultural programs, and performances by folk artisans were also organized, adding a unique charm to the festive atmosphere. Domestic and international tourists, as well as residents of the capital, visited the exhibition and had the opportunity to observe the process of creating handcrafted works up close.
At the conclusion of the festival, winners were determined in the nominations “Best Master” and “Best Apprentice” and were awarded diplomas, certificates of appreciation, and valuable gifts. In addition, a number of active participants received certificates of honor for their significant contribution to the development of traditional folk crafts.
The event concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, filled with a strong sense of national pride, once again proving that Tajik folk crafts possess a rich history and that their preservation and development remain an important responsibility of society.
