Today, the city of Bokhtar in Khatlon Province hosted the International Symposium titled “Ancient Khuttal — The Cradle of the Emergence of the Tajik-Persian Language and the Ancient Civilization of Central Asia.”
Guests and participants of the symposium were warmly welcomed at the Palace of Culture in Bokhtar. The event brought together representatives of state institutions, scholars, researchers, historians, archaeologists, and both domestic and international experts.
At the opening ceremony, Anvar Safarzoda, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for Social Development and Public Relations, delivered a congratulatory message from the country’s senior leadership. The message emphasized that the study, preservation, and promotion of the ancient history and civilization of the Tajik people play a crucial role in strengthening national identity, safeguarding historical and cultural values, and promoting national heritage.
The Chairman of Khatlon Province, in his address, highlighted the importance of organizing such international events for enhancing scientific cooperation, strengthening cultural ties, and promoting the scientific and historical potential of the region.
During the symposium, scholars and experts from Tajikistan and abroad delivered presentations on the history of Ancient Khuttal, its role in the development of the Tajik-Persian language, and its contribution to the formation of the civilization of Central Asia.
Participants noted that Ancient Khuttal was one of the key centers in the formation of Aryan culture and civilization, and that its comprehensive study is of great scientific significance for a deeper understanding of the nation’s history.
As part of the symposium program, guests also visited the mausoleum and house museum of Mawlana Jalaliddin Balkhi in the Jalaliddin Balkhi district, where they became acquainted with the region’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
The symposium was recognized as an important platform for the exchange of ideas among scholars and researchers and contributed to strengthening scientific and cultural cooperation. According to the program, participants will also visit historical, cultural, and tourism sites in the districts of Vose, Khovaling, Baljuvon, and the city of Norak in the coming days.
