On the eve of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, a sewing center called “Chakan House” was inaugurated at Danghara State University on the initiative of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The primary objective of the sewing center is to provide employment opportunities for skilled women engaged in home-based work. At present, 40 women have begun working at the center. This initiative is expected to contribute to the development of traditional crafts and strengthen the economic stability of families.
During the period of state independence, particular attention has been paid in the country to the revival of national traditions, including traditional handicrafts. The establishment of this craft development center creates favorable conditions, particularly for providing women and girls with employment opportunities and enabling them to earn a stable income.
The development of traditional handicrafts is an important means of promoting national culture, improving living standards, and creating employment opportunities for women and girls. The Tajik people have possessed a rich heritage of traditional crafts since ancient times, and, fortunately, these national traditions and customs have been preserved and passed down to the present day.
