Today, the Republic of Tajikistan has emerged as an important global platform for dialogue on water and climate-related issues. To participate in the High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028,” numerous guests, experts, representatives of international organizations, and official delegations from various countries around the world visited the country.
Over the past three days, the city of Dushanbe hosted one of the major international events — the High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028.” More than 2,500 participants attended the conference, including over 1,100 representatives from 110 countries, 75 international and regional organizations, as well as 170 non-governmental organizations and academic institutions. This once again demonstrated the strong international interest in the Dushanbe Water Process and reaffirmed its recognition as an important platform for advancing the global water agenda.
Alongside discussions on key water-related challenges, foreign guests also expressed admiration for Tajikistan’s rich culture, renowned hospitality, and unique natural beauty.
According to participants, the high level of organization of the conference, the welcoming atmosphere, and the peaceful environment of Tajikistan particularly attracted their attention. Many guests visited Tajikistan for the first time and shared positive impressions of the warmth of the people and the country’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
Conference participants also emphasized that Tajikistan today plays an active role in addressing global water and climate challenges, while its international initiatives continue to receive broad support from the global community.
Foreign guests further praised the country’s ancient culture, safety, cleanliness, and urban development of Dushanbe, as well as the capital city’s picturesque landscapes.
In their view, such international events contribute not only to addressing global challenges but also to promoting countries’ tourism, cultural, and economic potential.
The positive and memorable impressions of international guests reflect the growing recognition of Tajikistan as an initiative-driven, peace-loving, and hospitable country on the global stage.
