In recent years, the tourism sector in Tajikistan has become one of the key areas of the country’s economic policy. With its unique nature, ancient history, and rich cultural heritage, Tajikistan possesses broad opportunities for tourism development. At the initiative of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Second Festival for the Development of Domestic Tourism was held. Tourist routes were also organized within the framework of the festival.
As part of the Second Festival for the Development of Domestic Tourism, which commenced at the square near the Sadriddin Ayni State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, several tourist routes were launched. During the opening ceremony of the festival and the start of the domestic tourism season, officials stated that the main purpose of organizing these routes is to showcase the country’s rich tourism potential, encourage citizens to travel within the country, and promote Tajikistan’s tourist destinations more extensively.
It was also emphasized that the country’s top leadership considers the tourism sector an important factor for economic growth, job creation, and the promotion of Tajikistan in the international arena.
