Preservation of historical heritage, appreciation and honoring the achievements of historical figures and prominent representatives of the Tajik people are among the priority areas of the scientific and literary policy of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The museum, which is a historical and tourist attraction reflecting the high civilization and craftsmanship of the Tajik people, is located in the town of Ghafurov.
It houses more than 60,000 artifacts collected and exhibited from the activities and noble deeds of the Hero of the Tajik People, a prominent statesman, and the author of the masterpiece “Tajikon”.
After the renovation and opening of the Academician Bobojon Ghafurov Republican Museum, the number of visitors has increased significantly, and in 2025, 11,300 people, including 40 foreign tourists, visited this hidden treasure of history.
