As part of the continued implementation of the Domestic Tourism Routes Programme, a tourism route Dushanbe – Romit – Dushanbe was organized for employees of the structures of the Executive Body of State Power of Dushanbe.
During the trip, participants visited a number of tourist and recreational sites and explored the region’s natural potential. They also received detailed information on tourism development initiatives and measures aimed at attracting more visitors.
The Romit tourism area is one of the most scenic destinations in Tajikistan. Its unique natural landscapes, crystal-clear waters, rich natural resources and recreational facilities offer considerable opportunities for the development of ecological and wellness tourism.
As part of the route, participants first visited the Zairon Sanatorium, where they learned about its treatment and recreational facilities, modern services and capacity to accommodate domestic and international visitors. It was noted that facilities of this kind provide favorable conditions for expanding wellness tourism and improving the quality of services available to tourists.
The visit to the Mekhvari Dushanbe LLC fish farm was the next stop on the route. Representatives of the farm provided information on its production activities, trout-farming methods and the role of such enterprises in supplying the domestic market with high-quality products.
It was noted that trout is raised in more than 45 ponds at the facility. This potential can also contribute to the development of fishing tourism and ecotourism.
The Romit Biosphere Reserve was another important destination on the itinerary. Participants received detailed information about the region’s biodiversity, conservation of unique natural resources, scientific research activities and opportunities for developing ecological tourism.
The Romit Biosphere Reserve was established in 1959 as a nature reserve and was transformed into a biosphere reserve in 2014 with the aim of ensuring more effective use of the region’s rich natural resources.
