Buston — a model of tourism infrastructure development and modern urban improvement

Today, the city of  Buston is considered one of the country’s well-developed and well-maintained cities. Given that the Khujand International Airport is located within its territory, Buston serves as one of the main entry points for guests and tourists arriving in the Sughd region.

During the years of independence, special attention has been paid in the city to beautification, construction, landscaping, and cleanliness, making Buston an increasingly strong example of modern urban development. The renovation and reconstruction of parks, boulevards, social and cultural facilities, roads, pedestrian walkways, as well as the construction of major enterprises, have significantly enhanced the city’s appearance.

As the air gateway to the Sughd region, Buston holds important strategic significance and is considered one of the leading cities in terms of tourism infrastructure development. Taking into account the needs of the tourism sector, over the past ten years the city’s related infrastructure has been significantly improved. Today, 10 hotels and service centers, as well as teahouses, cafés, dining facilities, and restaurants, provide services to residents and visitors.

Among the city’s key tourism facilities is the “Sipehr” Hotel, which plays an important role in the tourism sector. The hotel includes 24 single and double rooms, 8 special rooms, 5 premium-class rooms, as well as official and national-style rooms, offering a high standard of professional service.

All the necessary amenities in line with modern standards have been provided at the hotel. Adjacent to it is the “Sipehr” National Teahouse, which serves guests in a national style and offers some of the finest Tajik dishes.

In addition, the “Sipehr” Complex features a beautiful garden and a live nature corner, helping create a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere for guests.

At the entrance to the city, the “Buston” Hotel, consisting of 5 floors and 22 rooms, is also regarded as one of the city’s active hospitality facilities. The hotel was commissioned in 2019 and serves more than 20 domestic and foreign guests daily.

A national teahouse is also located next to this hotel, offering an attractive design, neatly arranged seating areas, and delicious meals for visitors.

According to officials from the Executive Body of State Authority of Buston, within the framework of the Tourism Development Strategy, further expansion of the sector’s infrastructure is planned. In particular, the renovation of a 9-story hotel on the shore of the city lake and the construction of several other facilities are scheduled to be completed by the major national celebration marking the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

These initiatives are regarded as a solid step toward creating favorable and modern conditions for the continued development of tourism in Buston.

With the rapid development of tourism infrastructure, Buston is gradually becoming one of the key centers for receiving guests and tourists in the Sughd region. The creation of modern service conditions, the construction of new hotels, and the development of new tourism facilities provide a strong foundation for better showcasing the city’s potential and attracting more domestic and international tourists.
