Today, the International Tourism Forum and Exhibition “Khatlon – Land of Civilizations and Travel” officially opened in the village of Childukhtaron, Muminabad District. The event will continue through June 5.

The forum is expected to bring together representatives from more than 20 countries, including Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Türkiye, Iran, and other nations. Representatives of tourism companies, investors, diplomatic missions, international organizations, development partners, and media outlets have also been invited to participate.

Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to explore traditional Tajik crafts, including Chakan embroidery, pottery, gold embroidery, wood carving, and other forms of folk art. These traditional crafts represent an important component of tourism development.

The forum will address key issues related to tourism development, prospects for international cooperation, and new investment opportunities. One of the main highlights will be international panel discussions focusing on digital tourism and the application of artificial intelligence in the tourism sector.

Business-to-business (B2B) meetings will also be held to facilitate new partnerships and attract investment. Participating companies will have the opportunity to present their projects and identify new areas of cooperation.

According to organizers, Khatlon Region welcomed 1.647 million tourists in 2025 alone, reflecting growing interest in the region and the steady development of its tourism industry.

Tourism development has a positive impact on the regional economy. An increasing number of visitors stimulates demand for hotels, transportation services, handicraft products, and other sectors, while also creating new jobs and expanding entrepreneurial opportunities.

The International Tourism Forum and Exhibition “Khatlon – Land of Civilizations and Travel” represents an important step toward positioning Tajikistan as one of the most attractive tourism destinations in Central Asia.

The event showcases not only the tourism potential of Khatlon Region but also the opportunities of the entire country. With its unique natural landscapes, ancient history, and rich cultural heritage, Tajikistan possesses significant potential for sustainable economic growth and a stronger presence on the international stage.
