On June 4–5, Muminobod District of Khatlon Region will host the International Tourism Forum and Exhibition titled “Khatlon – Land of Civilizations and Travel”, aimed at promoting the region’s tourism potential, attracting investment, and strengthening international cooperation.
According to organizers, the event will take place at the “Childukhtaron” tourist destination and is expected to bring together representatives from more than 20 countries.
Experts attribute the steady increase in the number of foreign visitors to Khatlon Region to the successful organization of international tourism events, including the “Welcome to Khatlon” forum and other major exhibitions.
The “Childukhtaron” area is recognized as one of the most picturesque natural attractions in southern Tajikistan. The site offers visitors an opportunity to explore unique mountain landscapes, local history, legends, and the cultural heritage of the region.
As part of the forum, exhibitions of traditional handicrafts, national cuisine, agricultural products, and industrial goods produced in Khatlon Region will be organized for participants and guests.
According to the Tourism Development Department of the Kulob Region, Muminobod District welcomed 110,781 domestic and international tourists in 2025, including 107,942 domestic visitors and 2,839 foreign tourists.
Data from the Executive Authority of Khatlon Region indicate that more than 344,000 tourists visited the region during the first quarter of 2026. The upcoming forum is expected to further boost tourism growth and enhance international awareness of the region’s tourism opportunities.
