Guliston: Rapid Development of Tourism Infrastructure Ahead of the 35th Anniversary of Independence

As part of preparations for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, dozens of tourism, industrial, educational, healthcare, and service infrastructure facilities have been constructed and commissioned in the city of Guliston. The implementation of these projects has created permanent employment opportunities with достой wages for hundreds of local residents.

Located on the shores of the “Tajik Sea,” Guliston is steadily emerging as one of the country’s attractive tourism destinations due to the development of modern tourism, healthcare, and recreational infrastructure. Through investments attracted from the private sector and domestic entrepreneurs, 6 hotels and 5 health resorts and wellness centers have been put into operation along the coastline in anticipation of the 35th anniversary of Independence.

According to official data, the city’s accommodation capacity has reached 2,214 beds. During the first four months of the current year, Guliston welcomed more than 200 foreign tourists and over 4,000 domestic visitors, generating more than 7 million somoni in tourism-related revenue.

Furthermore, under the State Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Guliston for 2026–2030, plans include the construction of tourism service centers, a 250-bed health resort, modern restaurants, the establishment of a tourism company, and the development of a tourism map of the city.
