The Republican Festival-Contest “One Fabric, a Hundred Colors” Held in Bokhtar City

The republican festival-contest “One Fabric, a Hundred Colors” was held in the administrative center of Khatlon region — the city of Bokhtar.

At the beginning, guests visited an exhibition of traditional crafts organized at the theater venue, where unique examples of Chakan embroidery, Suzani, decorative needlework, gold embroidery, and textiles such as atlas and adras were displayed.

In order to promote the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Tajik people, international festivals, national contests, and conferences are held annually across the country. The festival-contest “One Fabric, a Hundred Colors” is one of the significant cultural initiatives aimed at preserving national values.

The event was attended by the Deputy Chairman of Khatlon region, Anzurat Abdusalomzoda, representatives of local executive authorities, guests, and participants from various cities and districts of the region.

Designers and skilled women artisans presented their handcrafted works, showcasing the high level of craftsmanship of Tajik women. The exhibition featured traditional clothing, suzani, cushions, skullcaps, and other household items decorated with national patterns.

It was emphasized that such festivals play an important role in reviving traditional crafts, promoting national attire, and preserving cultural heritage.

Participants demonstrated modern clothing collections inspired by national traditions, as well as unique handmade products. The jury evaluated quality, design, use of national elements, and innovation, and selected the best entries. Winners were awarded certificates and commemorative gifts.

It was noted that such events contribute to the development of traditional crafts and strengthen national identity.

The event concluded with a vibrant cultural program.
