This region, as one of the regions with rich historical, cultural and natural resources, is gaining significant economic and social importance.
This process is considered not only an indicator of the activation of the tourism services market, but also an important factor in strengthening the local economy, creating new jobs and presenting tourism opportunities in the international arena. With the arrival of the new tourist season, Khatlon region, as one of the regions with rich historical, cultural and natural resources, is further strengthening its position on the country’s tourism map. The beginning of the season not only lays the foundation for an increase in tourist traffic, but also indicates the level of readiness of infrastructure, development of services and implementation of innovations in the field. In the context of the growing interest of domestic and foreign tourists in the tourism opportunities of Tajikistan, Khatlon region is considered a region with high potential.
This region has many historical and tourist sites, in particular, the historical monument of Ajinateppa, known as the center of Buddhist civilization, attracts the attention of domestic and foreign tourists every year.
