In Abu Dhabi, the Dushanbe Water Conference was presented as an important platform for global dialogue

A press briefing on the preparations for the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028” was held in the city of Abu Dhabi through a joint initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the United Arab Emirates, the briefing was attended by representatives of local media outlets, including “Abu Dhabi TV,” “Al Ittihad,” “Al Bayan,” “Gulf News,” “The National,” the national news agency “WAM News,” as well as experts from specialized United Nations agencies in the Emirates.

The event featured remarks by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan Ashrafjon Gulov, United Nations Resident Coordinator in the United Arab Emirates Beranger Bielle, and Director of the Energy and Sustainable Development Department of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shaima Hussein Gargash.

Ashrafjon Gulov spoke about the global initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in addressing water- and climate-related issues. He also presented an overview of the objectives, priorities, and expected outcomes of the Dushanbe Water Conference, particularly its role in advancing global dialogue on Sustainable Development Goal 6 and contributing to the progress of the United Nations Water Conferences in 2026 (Abu Dhabi) and 2028 (Dushanbe).

The event also featured a promotional video and a comprehensive presentation providing participants with essential information regarding the substantive, organizational, and protocol-related aspects of the Dushanbe Water Conference.
