The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted an international conference entitled “Tajikistan and 35 Years of State Independence: Peacebuilding Experience, Multi-Vector Foreign Policy and Sustainable Development.”
The opening session was attended and addressed by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, representatives of government institutions, the diplomatic corps accredited in Tajikistan, experts and researchers.
The international forum focused on Tajikistan’s achievements over 35 years of state independence, the country’s peacebuilding experience, the strengthening of national unity, the implementation of a multi-vector foreign policy and sustainable development.
The conference highlighted the importance of safeguarding statehood, strengthening national unity and ensuring lasting peace and stability as key factors for the country’s political, social and economic progress.
Particular attention was paid to Tajikistan’s distinctive experience in achieving national reconciliation and establishing peace through dialogue and diplomacy. Participants also discussed the role of Tajikistan’s “open doors” foreign policy in expanding international relations and strengthening cooperation with foreign partners.
The conference also reviewed the country’s achievements during the years of independence in various areas, including socio-economic development, the implementation of international initiatives, the promotion of Tajikistan’s ancient history and culture on the international stage, and the contribution of the Tajik people to the development of world civilization.
