A traditional sports event entitled “Navruzi Run” was held in the center of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, the city of Khorog. This event was dedicated to the glorious holiday of Navruz, which is celebrated all over the world.
The event began at Ismail Somoni Square and lasted for more than 3 kilometers, with the general public gathering with strong energy and determination at the starting point of the Navruz Run. Before the start of the “Navruz Run” sports event, the Chairman of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region congratulated all participants and the proud Tajik people on the arrival of the ancestral holiday of Navruz, noting that with the support and sports-friendly and youth-oriented policy of the country’s Supreme Leadership, a number of regulatory and legal documents have been developed and approved for the development of sports, and the construction and commissioning of various sports facilities have been widely expanded.
This year alone, it is planned to build and put into operation 26 sports facilities in the region, and this initiative will continue in the coming years. After the speech, according to information, more than 9 thousand people from different segments of society took part in the Navruz run.
It should be noted that sports are considered an important pillar of national and public life throughout the Republic of Tajikistan, and in this context, Navruz was celebrated in a high national spirit in the administrative center of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Khorog city, and in other districts of the region.
