Following the completion of the academic year in general education institutions across Tajikistan, the nationwide summer recreation campaign for schoolchildren has officially begun. As part of this initiative, the first group of students from Dushanbe’s Shohmansur and Ismoili Somoni districts was ceremonially sent to out-of-town summer camps.
The launch ceremony was held at the Department of Education of the Executive Authority of Shohmansur District. The event brought together representatives of local government, education officials, relevant agencies, and parents.
Participants highlighted that every year, following the end of the school year, children and teenagers are provided with opportunities for recreation, health improvement, and personal development through summer camps and school-based leisure programs.
According to organizers, 250 children and teenagers have been enrolled in the first session of the “Zimchurud” summer camp. Among them are 40 students from Boarding School No. 1 of Dushanbe, as well as children from low-income families and other socially vulnerable groups.
In addition, health and recreation camps have been established at nine secondary schools in Shohmansur District, providing students with opportunities to spend their summer holidays in a productive and healthy environment.
The first camp session will continue until June 22. During this period, participants will take part in educational, cultural, sports, and recreational activities designed to promote learning, creativity, and healthy lifestyles.
Teachers and camp counselors have been assigned to ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all participants throughout the program.
Following the official ceremony, the children departed for the “Zimchurud” camp by bus, marking the beginning of their summer vacation.
Summer camp activities are scheduled to continue throughout the holiday season, with children and teenagers expected to participate in four consecutive camp sessions before the start of the new academic year.
