Tajik Press Day

Every year on March 11, Tajikistan celebrates Tajik Press Day. This date commemorates the publication of the first Tajik newspaper, Bukhara-i-Sharif, in 1912 and is considered the beginning of the formation and development of the national press.

A celebratory event dedicated to Tajik Press Day was held at the State Philharmonic Hall with special pomp and circumstance, attended by journalists, media workers, and representatives of ministries and agencies. At the beginning of the event, the Minister of Culture congratulated those present on Tajik Press Day and noted that in a democratic and legal society, the press is one of the factors influencing public opinion.

Following the event, several active journalists were awarded letters of gratitude, certificates of honor, and commemorative gifts for their productive work and significant contribution to the development of the national press. The event concluded with a cultural program, creating a festive atmosphere at the meeting. Union of Tajik Journalists
