The final stage of the festival-competition of artisans and craftsmen entitled “Best Master and Apprentice” was held in Dushanbe, bringing together winners of the second round from cities and districts across the country.
The event took place at the Iram Cultural and Recreation Park, where the venue was adorned with handcrafted works by skilled artisans. The festival showcased outstanding examples of traditional handicrafts and decorative arts.
During the exhibition, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dilrabo Mansuri, highly praised the craftsmanship and artistic excellence demonstrated by the participants and winners of the second round.
The exhibition featured blacksmithing, jewelry-making, woodworking, carving, as well as various forms of traditional handicrafts, including embroidery, weaving, spinning, and other ancient artisanal practices.
The main objective of the festival-competition is to strengthen the traditional master-apprentice system, develop family-based and hereditary schools of craftsmanship, expand vocational learning through mentorship, revive ancestral handicraft traditions, preserve intangible cultural heritage, foster patriotism and cultural awareness, and encourage and support talented artisans.
The competition was organized in three stages among artisans from the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, Sughd and Khatlon provinces, Dushanbe, and districts of republican subordination across four nominations: “Confectionery”, “Weaving and Sewing”, “Wood Processing”, and “Metal Processing and Metal Products.”
At the conclusion of the event, winners of the final round were awarded first-, second-, and third-degree diplomas, along with commemorative gifts from the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
