Dushanbe: Festival-Contest “One Fabric, a Hundred Colors”


At the initiative of the Executive Body of State Authority of Dushanbe City, the city stage of the Republican Festival-Contest “One Fabric, a Hundred Colors” was held at the Odina Hoshim Children’s School of Arts, along with an exhibition and sale of chakan, embroidery, and gold embroidery products.
The main objective of the festival-contest is to strengthen the spirit of patriotism, national self-awareness, and national pride, promote beautiful national attire, foster the integration of the regions of Tajikistan, honor the country’s history, civilization, culture, and national traditions, and showcase the high artistic and craft heritage of the Tajik people.
The festival-contest was organized in accordance with the provisions of its regulations and was conducted in three nominations. Within its framework, traditional local costumes, everyday, ceremonial, festive, and official attire, as well as the best examples of national clothing made of atlas and adras, were presented to visitors.
In addition, various types of suzani embroidery, decorative embroidery, gold embroidery, patchwork sewing, chitgari, shohi, atlas and adras fabrics, gulbastu alocha, gardi, traditional caps, knitted socks, sheroz, and thread weaving were showcased. A competition was also held to determine the best ornamental artist and the best video presentation highlighting the work of the capital’s designers and artisans.
At the conclusion of the city stage of the Republican Festival-Contest “One Fabric, a Hundred Colors,” the most active participants were honored by the leadership of the Executive Body of State Authority of Dushanbe City with diplomas, certificates of appreciation, and commemorative gifts.
