With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Japan, Tajik civil servants studying at Hiroshima University under the “Human Resources Development Scholarships ” program celebrated the world-famous Nawruz holiday.
A wide range of university professors and students from different countries of the world (more than 20 countries, including Iran, Senegal, Mozambique, Poland, Nepal, Thailand, Myanmar, China, Kenya, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Djibouti, India, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Oman, Mongolia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Japan) participated in the festival.
According to the program of the event, the attendees were presented with brief information about the Tajik people, their culture, language and customs, as well as a comprehensive presentation on the Nawruz holiday, history and traditions of Nowruz.
In this context, it was noted that, at the initiative of Tajikistan, the Navruz holiday was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list and is celebrated annually as an international holiday in many parts of the world. The event also featured cultural displays and video clips about Tajikistan, its history, civilization, and national achievements of the Tajiks. Finally, the guests enjoyed delicious national foods and Tajik songs.
