“During 2024, 102,179 people visited the exhibition halls of the National Museum of Tajikistan, of which 7,820 were foreign tourists,” this point was made during the closing meeting of the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on the results of the institution’s activities in 2024 and tasks for 2025.
In the meeting noted that the collection, preservation, conservation, and study of historical and cultural heritage is one of the main tasks of the National Museum.
It was reported that during 2024, guests, tourists, and representatives from 50 countries of the world, including the Russian Federation, India, the People’s Republic of China, and other countries, visited the exhibition halls of the Museum.
During the reporting period, 102,179 visitors visited the National Museum’s exposition, of which 94,359 were domestic visitors and 7,820 were foreign visitors, which is 392 domestic visitors and 1,995 more foreign visitors compared to the same period last year.
It was noted that during the reporting period, the exhibitions “Presentation of Folk Crafts of the Tajik People” were held on the occasion of the inclusion of a series of folk crafts in the list of intangible cultural heritage of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization – UNESCO, the exhibition “Reflection of the Works of Mavlono Jaloliddin Balkhi” at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in honor of the 815th anniversary of Mavlono Jaloliddin Balkhi, the exhibition “The Great Silk Road” at the British Museum, the exhibition entitled “Tajikistan – a Country of Historical Monuments” at the headquarters of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and at the same time, the exhibition “Presentation of Folk Crafts of the Tajik People” in the cities of Khujand, Bokhtar and Kulob, at the initiative of the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, which played a valuable role in presenting the arts and crafts of the ancient Tajik nation.
The leadership and staff of the National Museum plan to organize and launch the exhibition “Tajikistan – a country of rare monuments” at the National Museum of the People’s Republic of China in 2025, thereby playing a valuable role in attracting tourists from the People’s Republic of China to sunny Tajikistan.
