The third meeting of the Tajikistan-Egypt Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the participation of official delegations of the two countries, under the leadership of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation of the Arabian Republic of Egypt.

The Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan stated in his speech that thanks to the wise policies of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Arabian Republic of Egypt, Honorable Abdul Fattoh As-Sisi, relations between the two countries have been constantly developing and reaching the highest level.

It was noted that the meeting of this Commission is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, taking into account common interests, in terms of implementing the instructions of the meeting of the leaders of the two states on March 10, 2022.

At the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, issues of developing trade and economic, investment, industrial, agricultural, tourism, education and healthcare sectors were discussed, and the parties agreed to work on the establishment of joint ventures in the textile, pharmaceutical, shoemaking, construction materials, including ceramics, seranite and granite sectors, with attracting direct investment, as well as simplifying bilateral trade procedures.

Within the framework of the meeting of this Commission, the delegations of Tajikistan and Egypt signed three important documents, including the Memorandum of Understanding on trade and economic cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Investment and Trade of the Arabian Republic of Egypt, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Arabian Republic of Egypt on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs activities, and the Protocol of the third meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and Egypt.
